Brand story

Edit two: STRIDE began in a garage, with a coach who was tired of watching good gear fail good athletes.

History

Three stops on one road

The brand is sixty-odd years of the same habit: make it, give it to athletes, fix what they complain about.

  1. 1961

    The garage years

STRIDE began in a converted garage outside Atheria, where coach Indra Vane started stitching reinforced training jerseys for the athletes on her own roster. There was no five-year plan — just a coach who was tired of watching good gear fail good athletes.

The earliest pieces were made in batches of a dozen, tested on the same hill circuit every weekend, and reworked before the next batch went out. That loop — make, test, fix, repeat — is still how every STRIDE product gets built today.

  2. 1974

    Podium proof

STRIDE stayed a local name for years, known mostly by word of mouth among competitive club riders and runners. The turning point came when three athletes wearing early prototypes finished on the same podium at a regional championship, all crediting the gear unprompted.

That moment didn’t change what we made. It changed how many people were paying attention to it.

  3. Today

    The next mile

Today STRIDE outfits athletes across cycling, running and team sports. We’re investing in lower-impact materials, longer product lifespans, and manufacturing partners who meet the standards we hold ourselves to.

The next chapter is about proving that performance and responsibility aren’t a trade-off.

Brand platform

What we stand for, in four answers

Why we do it

Too much athletic gear is designed for a photoshoot, not a finish line. The equipment should disappear the moment competition starts. Purpose comes before margin, every time.

How we do it

Build a prototype, hand it to real athletes, and listen harder to their complaints than their compliments. We’d rather delay a launch than ship something an athlete has to work around.

Who we do it for

Athletes who treat training like it matters — competitive amateurs chasing a personal best and professionals chasing a podium. They know what a bad zipper costs at minute forty.

What we do

Performance apparel and gear across cycling, running and team sports. If we can’t stand behind it in competition, we don’t put the logo on it.

Manifesto

How STRIDE behaves when nobody is checking

  1. 01We don’t chase trends. We chase the finish line.
  2. 02We design for minute forty, not the podium photo.
  3. 03We test on athletes, not on mannequins.
  4. 04We’d rather be right than be first.
  5. 05Every stitch has a job. If it doesn’t, it isn’t there.

Keywords

Five words every piece is checked against

When a design or a line of copy doesn’t clearly serve at least one of them, it doesn’t ship.

Performance
Every choice is judged by whether it helps an athlete perform, not by whether it looks good in isolation.
Precision
Clean edges, deliberate spacing, nothing left to chance.
Momentum
Our visuals lean forward; nothing about STRIDE should feel static.
Endurance
Built to last — both the gear and the brand around it.
Clarity
If a message needs two readings to land, it gets rewritten.

Purpose comes before margin, every time.
